Jerry Rice honored during “Hometown Hall of Famers” Ceremony

On November 14, representatives from Mississippi Valley State University- Danielle Blackwell, Asst. Vice President of University Advancement, Latacha Davis, Alumni Affairs Manager, Glenn Perkins, Communications Project Specialist (not pictured) and Karl Morgan-Head Football Coach (not pictured) attended a special program named “Hometown Hall of Famers” at East Oktibbeha County High School honoring MVSU Alumnus Jerry Rice.
During Rice’s speech, he spoke passionately about the importance of working hard, being committed, and persevering to accomplish one’s goals. Family, close friends, students and community leaders attended this event. The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Allstate Insurance Company, along with the town of Crawford, presented the program, which honors the hometown roots of football’s greatest players with special ceremonies and plaque dedications.
