Dr. Johnny Jones’96 Installed as President of Little Tribal Priest College

john jones_tribal collegeWinnebago, NE – Dr. Johnny D. Jones was inaugurated as the 15th President of Little Priest Tribal College on June 14, 2014.  This was the first presidential inauguration that Little Priest Tribal College performed as it is a new ceremony to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU’s).    Little Priest Tribal College students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends as well as the Winnebago Tribal Chairman were in attendance to commemorate this event.

 Dr. Jones was welcomed and received the Charge to the President by Winnebago Tribal Chairman John Blackhawk.  Christopher Stockdale, Academic Dean, provided the Commitment from the Faculty.  Dr.Dorris Robinson- Gardner, Division of Graduate Studies at Jackson State University, eloquently delivered Words of Encouragement.  President Jones delivered a keynote address in which he spoke to the challenges and opportunities that Little Priest Tribal College will face as well as imagining a new era of growth, fiscal stability and sustainability.

Inauguration Events included a Community Open House and Barbeque, a Scholarship Golf Tournament and the Inaugural Banquet.  The events were all well attended by the community and outside supporters of Little Priest Tribal College.  This historic celebration included distinguished delegates from colleges and universities from across the country.
